I started yoga in 2011 because I wanted to balance the effects of running, which I also love. When I first started, I brought my cell phone to my mat and left just before savasana. I’ve grown a lot through yoga since then, and my hope is to share this transformative practice with you.
I am an RYT 200 through the Yoga Alliance. I took a 9-month teacher training with Many Rivers Yoga at my Florida yoga home, Journeys in Yoga. I’m trained in multiple styles: beginner and intermediate flow, yin, hot, and basics of ashtanga yoga.
I love to guide students at all levels through a practice. My classes are informal; I meet students where they are, help them to take only what they need, and encourage them to leave whatever they do not.
My mom, Claudia, sponsored my teacher training and now loves to take advantage of her personal yoga teacher when we visit. We moved to Lubbock in August, after my partner took a job with Tech. In the future, as a native Spanish speaker, I hope to learn to teach yoga in Spanish and share the practice even more broadly.
